Candle Care Guide
The Science of the Perfect Burn
To maintain the structural integrity of your candle and optimize fragrance throw, please adhere to the following maintenance protocols.
🕯️ The Memory Burn
When lighting your Solid Ground candle for the first time, allow the wax to melt across the entire surface to the very edges of the vessel.
-
The Rationale: This establishes a "burn memory" and prevents tunneling. Failing to achieve a full melt pool on the first light reduces the lifespan of your candle. This process typically requires 2–3 hours.
✂️ Precision Trimming
Before every subsequent lighting, trim the wick to 1/4 inch. * The Benefit: A maintained wick ensures a controlled, steady flame and prevents carbon buildup (mushrooming) or soot. This discipline ensures a cleaner burn and extends the total burn time of your candle.
🕒 Operational Limits
Efficiency is key. Avoid burning your candle for more than 4 hours in a single session.
-
Safety Protocol: Discontinue use when 1/2 inch of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel. Burning beyond this point risks overheating the glass and compromising its structural safety.
🍮 Wax Melt Optimization
For those utilizing our high-fragrance wax melts, follow these standards for the best sensory experience:
-
Vessel Selection: Use only certified electric or tea-light warmers specifically designed for wax melts.
-
Portion Control: We recommend starting with 1 or 2 cubes. Adjust based on the square footage of your space and the depth of your warmer’s reservoir.
-
Scent Transition: Once the fragrance has been exhausted, allow the wax to solidify. For easy removal, place the cooled dish in a freezer for several minutes, or utilize cotton balls to absorb the liquid wax while warm.
⚠️ Safety Standards
-
Constant Supervision: Never leave a flame or active warmer unattended.
-
Clearance: Maintain a safe distance from flammable objects, drafts, and high-traffic areas. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
-
Surface Integrity: Always place candles and warmers on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
